the Sichuan pepper has a lot of aphids. i've been removing them mechanically but ants keep reintroducing them and protecting them from predators.
i found nematodes that infect ants online, i think i might buy some and see if i can get rid of them, idk. they do useful things but they're awfully persistent at doing agriculture that interferes with my horticulture
