right: drive transmission + change gear banjo. it's like they tried to use every material they could — there's phenolic cotton, aluminium, steel, and plastic (i suspect acetal). i love it
also god the styrofoam it was packed in got everywhere. it got in the fuckin leadscrew thread.
was wondering why the lathe came with shims. turns out it was for de-nub-ification (aka tool height adjustment)
first cut i did: cleaned up the end of a random m6 bolt that i lopped a bit off with a hacksaw at some point. i don't have any good stock material lying around to turn something new, sadly
