i want to become mediocre at everything.
i speak 🇬🇧🇳🇱 well, i'm currently learning 🇯🇵, and i can maybe read some other stuff

lol

this is mostly just me trying out pens and different ways to do the hane (bounce, the little nub) on オ and remembering stroke order and stuff, rather than trying to get everything about the characters exactly right. i need a lot more practice. i guess there's a couple ア & イ i don't mind so much.
the topmost row on all of these is a cheap fineliner i used yesterday, thick lines are the sakura brush pen, and the other thin lines are the fudenosuke. i'm not too happy with the latter on this printer paper (it writes nicer on the notebooks i bought, which have smoother paper). but the sakura brush pen is a bit too thick for this size of character.

the pen i had here ran out. i managed to dig up another one but one isn't really enough.
thought i'd buy some nice fineliners for a change, instead of getting a pack at the supermarket or whatever. i also bought two brush pens to try a tiny bit of calligraphy. and while i was at it, i got some notebooks.
wasn't really aiming to buy japanese stuff specifically, these are just what was well-reviewed. well, and the maruman notebooks just looked nice imo.
gonna use these for practicing writing hiragana (printed off some worksheets on the work printer) and also just for like. grocery lists and shitty woodworking sketches and shit. idk. maybe i'll try some other stuff
