You can choose a background for your ship to hover over while you work on it.
A stereotypical 'sci-fi hologram' transition makes it obvious that this is virtual, albeit one that accepts drop shadows.
The default terrain is a field of flowers set beset with a small alabaster pavillion. Girls sing pleasantly in the background. The shipgirl longs for heaven on earth.
In the top right corner is a Clippy-like character that displays any build warnings or broken constraints.
Each faction has a different Clippy.
- Terran clippy is a Beckoning
CatManul. - Martian clippy is a stone
LeninPlanner Sorokin head. - Corporate clippy is a
Funko PopPopdoroid of the CEO of Zakuro Mining Company.
If you click the Clippy while there are no warnings, they will each display a random nugget of wisdom.
- Beckoning Manul gives you a filialitypost from Remy Guerlain.
- Sorokin Head gives you a programming tip from Planner Sorokin, with annotations revealing the hidden socialist wisdom.
- CEO Popdoroid gives you an important business tip such as "no man ever became CEO on 8 hours of sleep."
