"flashing HP bar" type of vibe
I'll take it vs the visible violence of car-centric cities lmao like I've been to cities with deadass zero sidewalks
(flashbacks to my brief residence in Midlothian, VA)
Reminds me of one of those r/fuckcarscirclejerk posts reddit wanted to show me which was about them trying to mock someone posting to the effect of "how do I address arguments that public transportation enables harrassment against women" which is, like many posts on that subreddit, very funny for unintentional reasons, because it's easy to argue around. Even if a private vehicle is a safer place for a woman (and of course this is predicated on being able to afford one!) the world is still inescapably misogynist outside of this. Nearly all of the most unsafe places for women are private facilities...
Also like as if people e-tagging women's cars isn't a super common thing lmao. It doesn't enable it any more than like, any publically accessible space does.
I offer a differing interpretation:
Assuming they're not straight up reactionary, the thinking here is probably recognizing that walkable cities could be used as a tool for gentrification, and then acting as though that's either already happening or has already happened.
Yeah, aside from being unnecessarily jargony, this is basically it. Screencap of part of what I gather is the original thread included here. (It looks like the OP has locked their account, so I could only find pieces of it via screencap on twitter)
I’m going to put their theory posts on a high shelf until they can learn how words work
