This was a pretty fun way to spend a weekend. Which isn't a surprise since Big Bad Game-a-Thon is always fun, but I appreciate it working out. I like that this place is there for us to celebrate "bad" games that generally get dismissed as not worth caring about.
The big highlight for me would have to be Mystery of the Druids—tracking Halligan's trail of crimes committed in the name of supposedly solving a murder was loads of fun, especially since it was the first time I'd seen the game played!
Some other runs I particularly liked:
- Fire Bam by FlannelKat: Very interesting game and a fun demonstration of disk swapping strats.
- Wirehead by sharif: Super fun bit of FMV nonsense, featuring the epic of Fish Truck. Along with some of the most ridiculous villain teleportation I've ever seen.
- Alex Rider: Stormbreaker by AeonFrodo: Perhaps the only cheap movie tie-in based on a terrible adaptation of a teen spy book to ever include a disturbingly accurate and intricately constructed snooker simulator as a mandatory minigame.
- Gundam 0079: The War for Earth by LadyLenalia: Just...watch it. The majesty of this game's version of Char Aznable needs to be seen to be believed.
- Salamander County Public Television by tininsteelian: A speedrun by the creator of the game, which itself needs to be seen to be believed. Also, that's beans.
- Suzuki Bakuhatsu by NPC: A run to watch if you need to learn how to defuse an orange. Or a kotatsu, or the moon, or all manner of other ridiculous themed bombs.
But really the whole marathon was great
