Hawfend is a galaxy located roughly 4000 lightyears away from the MilkyWay Galaxy. Its situated next to the Hawfwick Nebula, which dwarfs the comparatively small galaxy with its size.
Hawfend itself consists of 52 star systems, all with varying planets, people and culture. The systems themselves all rotate around a singular point, giving the galaxy the appearance of a pinwheel from the outside.
The galaxy's pinwheel shape is broken up into 5 sectors or "rings". They're not actually perfect circles, more akin to spiralling crescents, but rings is easier to say. each ring has its own collection of systems situated within them. They are as follows;
The Inner most ring, containing the the Capital system, Neova. The Inner ring is home to the wealthiest systems in Hawfend, and where most major political decisions are made. It often overshadows the rest of the galaxy, despite being the smallest ring.
The Upper ring, home to Hawfend's industry. Acting as the barrier between the wealthy systems and the rest of the Galaxy, The Upper ring is the backbone that keeps the rings spinning. Everything from ship building dry docks to home appliance factories can be found within its systems. Your mass produced goods most likely come from here.
The Median ring, home to the fewest systems. What few that do exist that are very large though, comprising of double digit planet counts. The Median is also home to the Kroffnaugh suspension, a ring of asteroids controlled by the Miners Coalition. Many of these asteroids have been converted into forward stations for mining or trading, the most famous being Station 132.
The Lower ring, containing the most systems and the most populated part of Hawfend. Much of Hawfend's unique and diverse culture can be found here and many different species call it their home. contrasting the Inner Ring, most of the systems here are poor.
The Outer most ring, the most mysterious. The majority of it is shrouded by the Hawfwick Nebula, meaning the true size of the ring is unknown. To date, only 6 systems have been explored and inhabited fully, though rumour tells of more deep within the space clouds.
