I like that the first combat encounter after the tutorial area is just straight up the Jason and the Argonauts 'fight skeltals on a staircase' bit

  • figuring out I can stunlock the skeletons was funny & satisfying
  • I'm still not exactly sure why some are invincible up to a point (until I chase away the fire caster?) but figuring out I can knock them off the cliffs was cool
  • if parrying existed in elden ring I went through the entire game not using it at all

A quick youtube search tells me this isn't a new thought, but the male protagonist really do be sounding like the pufferfish eating a carrot

I've definitely wasted 1 or 2 fire keeper spirits because the item text is not phrased very clearly. I assume this is just a translation issue since I don't remember Elden Ring being like this, though the dialogue seems pretty naturalistic for the most part.

With the exception of some of the bosses I need to concentrate for, this is a great game to put a long podcast on and chill to. Been listening to The Worst of All Possible Worlds' "Adventures in Odyssey" recaps. Finding this podcast unlocked a core memory of hearing that show in my family's evangelical friends' car when I carpooled to school with them.
