the point is to make them uncomfortable and mark your territory. when you see businesses with signs about inclusivity and black lives mattering, it serves the same function. you probably just weren't thinking about it from that angle. but making bad people feel uncomfortable is necessary

This doesn't mean debate them though, because that's a lot of effort that won't be reciprocated in good faith. Instead, it's much easier and more satisfying to flip the script and use all the same bullshit tactics they normally employ against them, i.e. making guillotine jokes and when they get mad, rip into them for not being able to handle comedy
