I've been slowing buying uo the 8th Doctor's Audiobooks on Big Finish. I just finished Stones of Venice. That one was a bit of a snore.

I'm enjoying Charlie so far. It's a fun idea for Doctor Who, in many senses. A companion from Earth's past, who was supposed to die and the Doctor accidentally saved her, and thus made a time paradox. It adds this sinister undertone to all their interactions as the Doctor clearly fights himself over what to do. In their first adventure, after he realizes what he did, he says he should take her and throw her on the falling blimp to protect history. Of course, he doesn't. And I doubt he will. I bet he will find some clever solution in the end.

But, still, it adds this sinster tone. A Doctor secretly wrestling with their belief that they should kill their companion. It's a great angle.

I plan to finish the series and then move on to the New 8th Doctor adventures. Which apparently has a new companion.

I'll update if I get any stronger thoughts.
