My boss, who just got back from Christmas vacation, said he was resigning. He didn't have a hard date in mind yet. We just lost an accountant for the European branch and the controller is trying to move away from the role and have a replacement in by March so it just puts more stress in the department. So far, it hasn't fallen to my shoulders but we'll see. It was surprising but makes sense in hindsight. The guy is in his 60s or 70s, has a long commute, and probably has enough saved up to retire. He didn't say he was retiring but I have to assume he is since he didn't have a hard resignation date in mind. Usually, you get told when you're expected at a new job.
