Ever wanted to see an amazing anime that is only 12, 1 hour episodes, that has twists, turns, amazing animation, great characters, and a complex plot? Do you want something that dubbing companies have, for some reason reason, decided to keep from you? Do you want to watch something that will stick with you for weeks and will leave you legitmately excited to watch the next episode?
WATCH KATANAGATARI
Katanagatari has the kind of plot where you can't explain too much. A lot of it is interconnected in a way where you can easily spoil the entire thing if you aren't careful. I'll just give a short premise:
Katanagatari follows the journey of a strategist and a martial artist as they seek to collect the twelve deviant blades. Yasuri is the current head of the Kyotouryuu (or unarmed) Sword School. He works with Togame, who was tasked by the Shogun to collect the blades. Each episode focuses on a challenge they must overcome to acquire one of the deviant blades.
And that's all I will say there.
The writting is tight. The characters are deep. The plot is anti-trope. And the series manages to keep you guessing by using your genre awareness against you.
Massive recommendation!
You'll have to pirate it because it was never localized. But, piracy is like breathing to an otaku.
