"In our universe, space is vast and limitless. It stretches beyond any visible scope of sight and dwarfs us to nonexistence with its scale. And yet that isn't the case for here. For in this galaxy, space was small. The vast rotation of its galaxy was smaller, the length of its tendrils a more reasonable distances from each other. Travelling from a planet to its Moon was an hour of transit. Traveling to another planet in a system was a half day at most. Travel to the end of the system only took a couple days. Traveling across systems? A week or so. And even traveling across the entire Galaxy was only a year of transit. Thus, FTL, warp, and all our dreams of fancy were unneeded here. Empire across the galaxy sprung quickly and violently in the smaller size. And thoughts of galaxies beyond this one were considered dreams of madman. For how could anything be that far from each other?"
