Travelling from a planet to its Moon was an hour of transit. Traveling to another planet in a system was a half day at most. Travel to the end of the system only took a couple days. Traveling across systems? A week or so. And even traveling across the entire Galaxy was only a year of transit. Thus, FTL, warp, and all our dreams of fancy were unneeded here. Empire across the galaxy sprung quickly and violently in the smaller size. And thoughts of galaxies beyond this one were considered dreams of madman. For how could anything be that far from each other?"
