Would I be too much of a scrooge for at least wondering if @staff could not punish us this year with an April Fools? Like, the Numbers thing happened last year, and it sucked, because let's be fair, the two results of an internet April Fools is either that it ruins your favorite websites for a day or that its actually a good idea and its worrying someone thought it should be a joke.

I'd really like if I could have a normal place to talk and post while the rest of the internet is going "what if we all made the lamest, most annoying "jokes"? Aren't we all quirky and funny? :)"

a few years back my friend dee and i had this long-running joke where we would pick a random simpsons character and pitch a three-act story about how they start running the springfield power plant, with the end goal being to have an entire season's worth of episodes all about new characters becoming the boss of the power plant. principal skinner runs the power plant. comic book guy runs the power plant. comic book guy's wife runs the power plant. i think those three were honestly as far as we got.

but, eventually, saying that someone "runs the power plant" became shorthand for any time anybody unexpectedly achieves any sort of power or status in anything. we'd watch a ninja turtles thing and go "NOW SHREDDER RUNS THE POWER PLANT" when he eats the super shredder juice, that kind of thing.

this is so esoteric but im also constantly wanting to say "NOW (x) RUNS THE POWER PLANT" all the time even though no one else will ever understand what that means.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is one of the silliest movie I have ever seen in theatres and an amazing piece of cinema. Absolutely fucking fantastic. It felt like someone took someone's fan art, high school notebook doodles and made a film. Most of the characters never talk and the majority of the film is giant monster fights. They were gonna build an Iron Man Suit for Kong. Godzilla is barely in it and still seems bad ass. Last 20 minutes is one of the most silliest fun fight scenes in the franchise.

Also, if you have small kids around 7-10 and you let them and their friends go to the threatre alone, unsupervised, and you never raised them to act properly in a threatre setting, I just have a message for you: fuck you!
