Yes, I still use the same hard disk platter as a drink coaster. But I need more ISA cards in my collection.

Mike Brutman, the creator of mTCP (a TCP/IP stack for DOS) keeps an alternate version on his website on an alternate server. It just reached 2500 hours of continuous uptime.

Okay, over 100 days without a crash/power cycle. Why is that cool? B/c the webserver is:

  • Is an IBM PCJr, with a 4.77 MHz V20 CPU, connected to the Internet proper.
  • Has 736kB of RAM.
  • Running his own TCP/IP stack.
  • Running in MS-DOS!! Without crashing!! Continuously!! For 100 days!!

Today, it's getting a Hug of Death thanks to the the aforementioned article, and Mike has decided to livestream its DDOS :D!

You can watch the livestream here.
You can visit the website that the server hosts here.

This looks like a DOS/4G(W) Error? I've seen Shadow Warrior crash in a similar way...

EDIT: According to @kokoscript, this is cwsdpmi. This is extremely interesting to me, because DOS/4G(W) has a very similar failure mode. Here is a picture of a Shadow Warrior crash (which I know uses DOS/4GW) that I took on January 25, 2012.
