part of me cant help but feel bad for the lgbtq staff members that are stuck dealing with the aftermath of their raging manbaby ceo, but no amount of corporate-speech apologies is going to make me forgive the tumblr team as a whole, in part because its not my forgiveness to give.
i see other tme and particularly cis queer folks talking like "oh phew so glad there are some good gays on the team so i can feel safe here on tumblr again" and its like. YOU were never the ones in danger! certainly not to the degree that trans women were and ARE! you are out here talking about how relieved you are while tma peoples blogs are still being nuked, their content still being falsely flagged, their inboxes still overflowing with violent bigotry! it has literally only increased since the matt incident and the best apology post in the world would not undo that damage!
imo the absolute least staff could do right now is reinstate the blogs that were taken down due to their bullshit moderation system, followed by a massive and visible effort to make amends with the communities theyve harmed. and even if they do, its certainly not up to tme folks, who are again literally not the people being targeted here, to forgive them.
