waited too long with ordering a new batch of hrt. my prescription (patches) is almost out of stock all over the country. there's like 5-6 pharmacies nationwide that we've found that still have anything in stock, and the closest of those is like a 5-6 hour drive away (we do not have access to a car rn). we've ordered a delivery for our local pharmacy, but we have no clue when in the fuckery when/if it's going to arrive. we have enough patches for.... one more week.

fuck. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

literally the "most straightforward" way to solve this problem would be a weekend trip through to svalbard. it's like the only pharmacy we found that has like less than a 6-hour bus ride one way [mid-posting edit: ok if we get that desperate there suddenly popped up another pharmacy that's incredibly easier for us to reach (about an hour's train and then under 30-ish minutes of local train/bus jumping in an area we're quite familiar with all the way up until the last km or two of travel), that's a way easier and cheaper solution than a casual weekend trip to the arctic circle. ok worst panic over, still gonna post this because we already wrote all this and shoutout to medicine for just being like "we're only gonna have stock of this in like five tiny corners of this country!"]

ok. ok ok ok. we might get to sort this out. at least our pulse is almost back down to normal pace. this is a mess, and half of that's thanks to us, but we might have found a way out. no more updates until we know stuff for sure (a lot of moving parts going on rn), but. we're down to only a little panic. a massive improvement. kweh.

(also we did briefly consider imports, but that not only has same core problem (delivery wait time) but national border cops are incredibly strict about anything medical being imported, so that would just be at immediate risk of being yeeted and we'd be back at square one with less time)

we were able to order through that other location mentioned, and that should just be a quick day trip one of these next days. phew. (apologies for not updating earlier, we were busy having "we can get more e in time" celebratory pizza)

I am unsure how pharmaceuticals work in your country, can you do mail-order pharmacies? Like in the US, you can go to a physical pharmacy store in person (a stand-alone store, or it's inside of a grocery store or a big-box store like Walmart or Costco) OR you can have a pharmacy mail your medication to you through the regular (so not UPS/FedEx) mail. And those tend to be cheaper because you don't have to have cashiers or answering questions or have people rob you. I can't do that with my testosterone because it's restricted (it's "abusable and addictive" because of steroid abusers), but I know estrogen isn't on that list.

Does your country have a problem with physical pharmacy stores closing down? Most of the big chains here are closing locations "because of all the retail theft" but it's really because they're cheap and don't want to pay all the other staff and would rather you do mail orders. But that kinda doesn't work for testosterone! I also don't drive so getting it is a major pain in the ass lol

technically that's possible here, but they don't offer mailing the patches in question. not sure if that's for "oh they're supposed to be stored in specific temperatures and we can't guarantee that through mail so not possible" or just "it's a limited medicine (in that you explicitly need a doctor's signature on the prescription to purchase it) and we don't want to risk things getting lost", but either way that's not a possibility. plus, right now the problem isn't so much a lack of physical stores as a massive shortage of those patches nationally, so only like 6 stores nationally across 2-3 chains that we found had any at all. fortunately, we were able to order through that second pharmacy we mentioned in that first post, and we got an order down there and we're gonna pick it up over the weekend. crisis averted! also big understandable on the driving
