ok, fun little aurum vale moment just happened

we got it in roulette, and first thing we notice is that the other dps (we're playing bard) is a lancer. ok, we think, probably a challenge run or something. said lancer seems incredibly new to the game, misses out on some aoe tells and the like. very much fair, we all learn at differing speeds and all that! they're struggling a little, but doing their best and that's always great to see.

and then we notice our healer start talking in german, apparently aimed at the lancer, and it's quickly clear that they're going in here as a team! the healer is trying to help the new player get used to the fun that is aurum vale! aaaaaaaaaa! this immediately activates two thoughts in our head:

  1. them playing lancer, if they're inexperienced and have a helper that deep in the game, was probably to let them focus on game mechanics over having to do drg stuff, which is completely understandable! that's early enough that the lack of drg skills won't mess up the entire gameplay experience, while still a complex enough dungeon that there's a lot of other stuff to focus on.
  2. must. protect. sprout.

and it was quite the fun run! sure, it had a wipe in the first room (no we weren't the ones who got caught what are you talking about), but other than that everyone mostly survived! the sprout took a couple 1hkos, and there was a moment at the first boss where everyone but us and the healer was dead so we had to do some sprint tanking, but otherwise a nice fun aurum vale run. hope that lancer has fun with the game and gets the chance to improve their skill level at whatever pace they need, certainly seems like they have helpful friends on that front!

wir kannst nicht sprechen deutch. wir kannst aurum vale smashen. :3
