Y'all, remember this mutual aid crowdfund? We managed to hit the first goal and it made a big difference! Of course, there's a lot of steps and moving parts in working to get out of a bad situation like this. The next milestone to hit is the $2K mark by THIS Tuesday, July 23rd, BUT we are already almost there! Only $55 to go, I know a lot of us already gave what we could to hit the first goal so please share as you can—I noticed when I shared on other social media as well that we started getting more donations, I don't know if it's because of that but it certainly helps!
(If this is your first time seeing this, S is Black, disabled, queer, and trying to escape from a financial abusive living situation. Their final goal is $6K, but we are trying to focus on helping them achieve the goals that have strict deadlines first, such as paying past-due rent and bills to keep their situation from getting worse, if I understand correctly. So you will continue to see this fundraiser, but hopefully each time it'll be with good news as we help S take down the barriers to securing independent housing!)
Here's the GFM link (please note the link contains non-graphic mentions of financial abuse, animal death): https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-ss-journey-to-safety-and-stability
And additional payment methods are Paypal @torkz and Venmo/Cashapp torkz428, if donors prefer these methods over the GoFundMe, please send the funds with the note "For S" to make sure they get where they need to go!
Thank you so much! I don't know S, but I do know that things have been feeling really hopeless lately, and seeing small things we do help someone get out of a bad situation helps a lot, so I really appreciate the reads and shares!
