because what else do you do at half past midnight other than revive your old drawing skills for a self portrait?

jokes aside, folks. i've been crying tears of euphoria here for half an hour now. this is me. this is an amazing summary of some of the parts that i feel make me me. i haven't done any proper figure/person-shaped drawing the last years (i was mostly on that activity around 2016-2017, last somewhat labeled was around mid-late 2020), almost no drawing at all the last couple, and that not only was i able to convey myself so accurately onto the page, but with a sketch i finished in only 30-ish minutes too?? i'm at a loss for (further) words. this is me.

(apologies for the slightly poor picture quality, i don't have the best of photo lighting here and for some reason 2h pencils, which are my preferred sketching pencils, have this tendency of not always being the easiest to photograph. the ears are in 2b because i realized that otherwise they'd be too hard to see among the hair. and yes there are some details that i'd change, but it's the middle of the night and i'm still tearing up from the raw euphoria, so not now)

had some time earlier to get the sketch inked, so that's what i did! overall i'm happy about how this turned out; although i made a couple mistakes with the inking and there's absolutely several places i need a refresher on drawing before i do any more art, i did get to both fix some details i was slightly unhappy about with the original sketch (primarily the shape of the tail tip and the topmost tentacle) and added a few minor details (belly button, eyebrows, that whole "wearing clothes" thing). i'd say i'm really happy with how this turned out! one could always do with more chubby demonic shapeshifters in their lives, after all~

currently don't have anything to color with, might do a digital drawover with my amazing mouse drawing skillz at some point or just grab some new coloring pencils, dunno where my old ones are and i'm feeling the drawing itch a bit again.
