I type in Colemak full-time now! Regularly getting 60+ WPM on typing tests, which is fast enough for me to stop caring about any residual speed difference.

It may be faster than typing on QWERTY someday, or it may not, but it already feels more comfortable. Since my livelihood literally depends on me being able to put a lot of words on a screen, this was a good move.

check out colemak club for typing practice. i used it along with the tarmak progression where you only move a few keys at a time, but even for regular colemak it lets you practice subsets of letters (starting with just the 8 in the home row) so you can focus on fewer things at once.

That's exactly what I started with! I should probably stick with it for focused practice too.
