I don't think it's too controversial in these circles to speculate that a reasonable percentage of otherwise totally decent friendly people would at the very least consider murdering Jeff Bezos or an oil executive if they ended up alone in a room with any kind of makeshift weapon. I have heard the case articulated that doing so would be enough of a net good in the world that it would be worth essentially sacrificing your own life to prison. Which also means that there is a class of people, all billionaires and some particularly heinous multimillionaires, who simply cannot be alone in a room with a stranger in case that stranger has a moral conviction that they need to die. What a truly horrible life to lead

we would be spending the entire time pondering virtue ethics vs. consequentialism, for SURE.
whenever i think about this kind of situation i end up getting mad about the general perception of what is and isn't considered "violence"
maybe one day I'll write that short story on this topic that's been kicking around in the back of my head...
And certainly cannot get on a rocket designed and assembled by a whole team of strangers, for the same reason. (Isn’t it ironic.)
Umm... so... I think about this a lot more that it's probably good to admit*. To the point of, "could I get the job done before their security got to me?"
