SCULLY: Mulder, that's ridiculous. There's no reason for someone to cover up a whole movie like that.

MULDER: It's true, Scully. Martin Scorsese's 1973 film Goncharov has no trace in official publications: it doesn't appear in newspaper listings, no published reviews of it survive, and there are no film negatives of it archived. But ironclad eyewitness testimony exists of people who, to this day, insist they saw this movie in theaters.

Yoshitaka Tamaki, the illustrator, character designer & scenario writer whose work defined the look and tone of Shining & The Darkness, Shining Force, Landstalker, Alundra and many other games in extended Sonic! Software/Climax family, succumbed to lung cancer on July 13, aged 55; the news was announced today, after a private funeral service attended by close friends and family.

R.I.P.

rather than singling out select pieces, I'd urge you to check out @vgdensetsu's archives of Tamaki's illustrated works—in addition to all the big, globally-known hits, there's also a selection of art from his various Japan-only projects and more obscure works like magazine contributions and light novels:

Yoshitaka Tamaka, 1991~1997
Yoshitaka Tamaki, 1998~2007 & beyond
Yoshitaka Tamaki's Shining and the Darkness Gaiden Doom Blade manga

Hatoful Boyfriend creator Hato Moa just revealed that, ever since Epic bought out Mediatonic and acquired the distribution/royalty rights to their version of Hatoful Boyfriend, the smartphone and PS versions were pulled down as part of the rights transfer, and then... nothing, and they haven't received a royalty or a single bit of communication from Epic in almost two years, and can't get in contact with their accountant.
