I think the best bet at present is to create an impermanent space somewhere and tell folks who enjoy your stuff that you'll be using it to later announce where you're going to move to, so that they can keep an eye there for that info. There isn't really enough time before cohost shuts down to have a good look at all the options and do the research necessary to find the best option.

I don't think there are currently any places that are as appealing as cohost. There's places that seem to have low bigot and pedophile amounts in the user base, but they don't necessarily have the features that everyone needs (Dreamwidth may be one of these, but it's more about journaling and longform writing than anything art related).

There really isnt a genuine mirror to cohosts principles right now, which is part of what hurts so much(already hating being on sites with numbers and public everything...) but the strongest ones right now I feel are Pillowfort, FA, and Sheezy.art, which I just found.
God, do I feel you on the newgrounds bit. I made a newgrounds to be able to view logged in only pieces and follow people who have chosen to just be there (sigh) but no way am I posting things to newgrounds community
