One of the benefits of Sparkle getting diagnosed with diabetes last month is that since I'm stabbing him twice a day with an insulin needle (unpleasant) I've offset that with also giving him a little piece of deli ham (delectable) as part of the ordeal.

Now, I've got experience with this sort of thing and let me tell you, it is functionally impossible to give one cat deli meat when you live with double digit cats - so we now have a morning / evening HAM TIMEโ„ข ritual where I get surrounded by cats and feed them tiny slivers.

What's most interesting to me is that not all of the cats who show up even care about the food - it's a much more social activity for them. Some of the cats get a tasty treat, the others get to feel involved.

It's the best possible outcome for a sick cat that I could have hoped for.
