Oh, no, absolutely. The agitprop and narrative work is essential. When faced with a choice between a policy that will work long term and one that will make any opposition appear unsuccessful (even if it actually achieved its goals), the neoliberal world bureaucracy always employs the latter tactic. Unmasking their weakness is essential.

The WSWS is saying that a wildcat strike is happening, and they're sourcing it to a committee I can't find any existence of outside of their website. Meanwhile, one of the guys with RWU is saying to Labor Notes that the rank-and-file isn't sufficiently activated or organized to do a wildcat strike right now, saying specifically "Rail labor is not organized. We’re not where we need to be. And membership isn’t active enough for us to win the kinds of things we want to win in future contracts. We’ve got to make that happen."

I'm more inclined to believe the group I can find any information on, so it seems like right now a wildcat strike's mostly just wishful thinking, though I'd love to be proven wrong.

Thanks for the link! I like that the person being interviewed points out how airlines do rolling strikes, that would be a nice way to accelerate the rail workers' negotiations. (a wildcat strike is good too tho)
