Who started making it acceptable to just hold a lavalier up to your mouth as if it was a normal microphone. Fuck you. It's got a clip on it for a reason.

Replying to this days late because this is what happens on CoHost, but this HAS to be the fault of Youtubers. You'd have the... person in their Narrator shots holding something silly, like a tiny studio mic taped to a water bottle. Ha ha. Good gag, no problem here. Except then the joke became to constantly out silly everyone (at one point I swear I saw someone tape the tiny mic to a Regular Mic, which is the actual Good Joke in that gag) until eventually, we wound up at either Holding A Lav or the cheaper variant on this: Holding an earbud mic up to your mouth.
