• they/them

I live in Portland and sometimes I make video games if I can find somebody who will pay me to do it.

Mightymountains has become a barony. I appointed some guy named Mosus to be the baron, and he's pretty demanding. I had to build him a big bedroom, office, dining hall, and tomb, and he wasn't happy with any of them until I smoothed the walls and floor and then engraved stuff on them, as well as putting a bunch of valuable furniture in there. Apparently he really likes picks and really hates blood gnats. I commissioned statues of a pick and a blood gnat to put in his tomb (this symbolizes the duality of dwarf). The blood gnat is striking a menacing pose. The blood gnat is screaming. I also put a statue of himself in his office; he seemed like he'd like that. (Can you tell I just figured out how to specify images to make statues of?)

Other than that, it's been a pretty quiet year. The well didn't flood again. We traded a bunch of crafts to the humans in exchange for lots of fish and meat, so I'm not too worried about the food situation anymore. A couple of religions wanted temples and guilds wanted guildhalls (note to self: make a guildhall for the planters), so we've been spending most of our time building furniture and smoothing and engraving walls. There was another puny goblin attack, but they were easily dispatched. We even caught one in a cage, but now I'm not sure what to do with him. I don't think goblins can be tamed or sold. Into the zoo, I guess!

Oh, and we got a nastygram from the elves for cutting down trees. An elven caravan had just arrived when I signed off for the night. I wonder if that will affect trading with them? At any rate, I can't make beds out of anything but wood, so they're just going to have to deal with it.
