Mightymountains is now a city of over 200 (mostly dwarves, but we've got a few humans and goblins and maybe an elf or two in there too). The current project is to build a road leading to the fortress entrance, because the last time the humans showed up, their wagons left because the depot was inaccessible (too many trees in the way, presumably). The elves won't be happy about the trees we cut down to make the road, but enh, they're never happy.
It occurs to me that the other reason the wagons couldn't get to the trade depot is probably because the stairs are only one tile wide. Guess I'll have to expand them.
Otherwise, things are still pretty quiet... too too quiet. I was a little worried we'd get attacked while working on the road, but we didn't. Even the wildlife has mostly left us alone. A child threw a tantrum and got in a fight with a couple of cats. That's about the most excitement we've had since the last update. That was one of two children who have been acting up lately. The other one is just depressed and stumbling around obliviously. Those are the only two super-stressed dwarves, and I've been trying to cheer them up, but I don't really know what their problems are. They don't seem to have anything more to be upset about than anybody else, and most of the citizens are pretty happy. I guess they're just sullen kids. Maybe it's just a phase. They'll grow out of it.
Anyway, I think we've satisfied the demands of all the nobles and religions and guilds that wanted stuff from us. We still need some more bedrooms, but blah. I guess the next step will be to do some more mining so we can make more equipment to get dwarves outfitted to take some tentative steps into the caverns.
