I live in Portland and sometimes I make video games if I can find somebody who will pay me to do it.

Outside of work and sleep I've been doing basically nothing but playing P5R since it came out on Switch the other week, and now I'm getting close to the end, but I don't want it to be over because then I'll have to return to real life. I think part of the reason I get so into Persona games is that they're so dense and have so much stuff going on that I need to keep track of that they are able to fully occupy my attention and prevent me from thinking about all the things I don't want to think about.

I could roll straight into a new game+ after I finish it, but that might be a bit much, even for me. I probably should get back to Soul Hackers 2 and finish that, but I'm not as into it because it doesn't have the calendar/social link systems of Persona and is pretty much just a dungeon crawl, and the dungeon designs and story have been kinda dull. I have plenty of other unfinished games I could get back to, but I kinda just want to keep playing P5R. My brain is broken

A thing that's weird about the Switch version of Persona 5 Royal is that it comes with all the DLC already included without you asking for it, so pretty early in the game you have access to a bunch of high-level personas and rare items, so you can make the game pretty easy for yourself if you want to. I don't have a problem with doing that since this is like my third playthrough and I'm fine with just cruising through it, but I imagine it would feel pretty unbalanced if you're playing it for the first time and don't know why you're getting all that free stuff. But I guess it's fine.

UGH my shipment of Persona 5 Royal for Switch has been DELAYED indefinitely (not like, forever, I just don't know how long). I was looking forward to playing that all weekend. I could just cancel it and download it instead, but I kinda wanted the "steelbook." (Why? I dunno. I probably have more than enough Persona 5 crap already. But it's a game I like so much that I want the physical versions.)

Maybe I should just get it on Steam instead. Then I wouldn't even have the option of worrying about a physical version. I could play it on my Steam Deck, and I could even stream it if I wanted. But I couldn't play it on my TV. Arrgh!
