• they/them

I live in Portland and sometimes I make video games if I can find somebody who will pay me to do it.

There are a lot of things that I like about my apartment, but these ridiculous sliding doors for the bedroom and closet are not one of them. They're just slabs of wood that hang from a track about an inch in front of the doorway. You can't lock or even latch them. A cat can easily push them open enough to get through. They don't block sound. They make a loud sound when you move them (loud enough to wake a sleeping person). And they make it so that large portions of your wall space are unusable because you have to leave room for the door to slide there when open. I can't think of anything good about them. What are we doing? Just have regular doors!

I would consider myself a fairly technologically competent person, but one thing that's completely baffling to me is audio. I have no idea how to set up anything more complicated than stereo. It seems like TV these days assumes you have 5.1 or whatever (at least, that's my assumption for why everything is mixed so badly) but I would have no idea where to even start if I wanted to do that. But I have bad hearing anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter.
