Okay, after letting the game poll linger, I have the first Little Town Hero update. Can you tell that it's a Game Freak game?
Aside from the very specific art style, it's been pretty hard to get into the game. Not only is it very linear, but each battle takes up a lot of time. A fight lasts as long as a League of Legends match and it's all counting numbers, so it's pretty draining. It does have that "not working on Pokémon" creativity that I love about the studio, but I don't think it's going to win out in the end.
One thing that broke my brain is that the game refers to "V" and "H" Camera, rather than the X or Y axis. At first, this came across as a complete sociopath move to break convention like that, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. "Vertical" and "Horizontal" are easier to translate in layman terms than an axis. It's just because no one ever uses this that it looked foreign to me. I don't think it's going to catch on, but maybe it should!
