Netflix is adding a lot of cool stuff lately. This was one of them. It's not bad. It's not good, but at least it's not extremely bad.

The Suicide Squad Review

I'm sure my expectations are just fried from having watched the first movie, which is one of the worst films of all time. The slapstick gore, the ham-fisted comic book flair, the downright predictable humor; it all feels so corny. Still, where its predecessor was tryhard in a bad way, at least this Suicide Squad is edgy in, well, not a good way, but closer? Someone gave a fuck about this movie, even if it barely had any idea on what it wanted to be and the direction was basically to just tear shit up.

The characters have solid and varied personalities, some of the writing packs a punch and they were definitely not afraid to get weird with it. I dunno, even if I never got a bead on its tone, you could absolutely do worse than this schlock. It's a comic book movie; enjoy it as such.

My favorite part of this was how long it took me to realize that the kinda boring squad leader dude from the first movie actually did come back and reprise his role here.

I mean, the movie was already crowded and junk. But I guess it's nice that they tried to give the guy a bit more of a role in a slightly better movie. So that's nice.

Also Starro is there.
