Bandai Namco smartly put all the One Piece games on sale on the Nintendo eShop, to cash in on the Netflix adaptation. I almost pulled the trigger on Pirate Warriors 3, since that covers the original arcs I want to play, even if I prefer the open world games. It's still 10 bucks, so I wasn't sure if it was a good idea.
Then I saw in the trailers that the games treat the women even worse than the anime. Now I'm good again. Maybe some other time ✌️
Yeah, I tried playing that one for the same reason and ended up falling off of it. I usually like those warriors games, but I ended up walking away with the feeling that I was better off reading the manga. Or even watching the long and filler laden anime. At least the women have a chance to feel like they have important, focal parts of the story there.
Also there's no character switching in these, that sucks with such a huge cast. Especially with the tedious way they want you to unlock some things.
And unfortunately, I don't think a single One Piece game has approached being truly good since Grand Battle and Grand Adventure, the Power Stone knock offs.
Good to know I wasn't just seeing things. Didn't know you can't switch characters. That really blows, as I don't really wanna go through the car of 74 side characters.
Imagine not wanting to make a Power Stone. Games are bogus now smh 😔
Pirate Warrior's 3 is on my list to get eventually, but I have enough of a backlog that I can sorta wait on it. As a One Piece fan I know the women generally aren't respected usally anyway, but it must be something special to be that much worse. Maybe I'll skip and get the open world game next time there's a deep discount and I don't have anything else i want to play immediately
