Five years into the Sega Game Gear and after strategy role-playing games really took off, the cute Crystal Warriors received a sequel: Royal Stone. The game is an improvement in most ways, but mainly doubles down on some exquisite sprite work, which is the right call.
Technically, this sequel also was re-released, but only on the Game Gear Micro. To its credit, the game made it to the main, black version of the handheld. Still, I doubt many will seek to play it, in Japanese, on a screen the size of a thumb.
