TikTok called me out for not being a Real Gamer™, because I don't like Uncharted, a game that mostly plays itself.
I'm going to use this as an opportunity to showcase my favorite iteration of Nathan Drake, by a mile, which is in none other than the failed Smash Bros clone, Playstation All-stars Battle Royale.
✨👇Here is some of Nathan Drake's moveset in the game👇✨
- Nathan summons a literal AK47
- Nathan can, at will, zipline from any position for that extra cinematic feel, baby
- At any point, Nathan can hide behind a spontaneous chest-high wall
- Nathan's super move literally destroys an ancient artifact 💀
Every implementation here is so unintentionally ironic, not just for Nathan Drake, but as an indication of where spectacle games were at the time. A game lampooning these tropes couldn't have ridiculed it better than this ill-fated project, which put in all these moves in earnest. It's the prime reason why I'd still recommend playing Playstation All-stars Battle Royale today. It's one of the funniest things in the modern game industry👌
Uncharted is not good.
