You already know I chose this for the siiiick box art. Look at that! Otherwise, games like The Krion Conquest are a blind spot for me. Since I'm not a big fan of Mega Man, I never realized how many games, such as this one, took a clear inspiration from the platform classic.

This NES adaptation has some quirky, if clunky, takes on the model, offering your powers at any time, through a menu. Mostly, you'll use a broom to guide your witch over pitfalls and occasionally fight a boss, but there's a little spark there! Get it? Spark?✨

WonderSwan didn't even have just one, but TWO exclusive Mega Man games. Rockman EXE WS is the handheld's late redo; this time in color. The overall visual design gets a big boost, but it still suffers from some of the tiny screen's issues.

This platform game is an inspired recount of an anime adaptation of the franchise, particularly its first season. A video game inspired by an anime inspired by a video game.

Final Fantasy wasn't the only big name with a WonderSwan exclusive. Mega Man or, for its Japanese name, Rockman & Forte: Mirai kara no Chōsensha was named by one Jeremy Parish as:

the worst Mega Man ever

That's on par with my experience for most mobile Mega Man. Cramped stages lead to mobility issues, but at least you get to choose a protagonist. And I hear you asking: Yes, it uses the verticality of the handheld! That's gotta count for something. Everyone loves a good gimmick.

I haven't seen anyone xhost about it, so maybe it's just getting buried in the hectic release schedule: Mega Man X DIVE, the gacha game without the gacha, is out now for mobile and also Steam!

Now, would I pay 30 bones for a mobile game? Gosh, no! I did that once for Civilization Revolution II and that version is no longer compatible with modern phones. If you have Steam, however, maybe that deal is more palatable for you. It already has 180 reviews, so someone out there is playing it. I dunno, I'm not a Mega Man fan, but a lot of people are! I thought I needed to pass on that message and make sure you don't miss it. They put waifus in your Mega Man. Everyone loves waifus. It reminds me of my single most favorite bit from Robot Chicken:
