github might be one of the least intutitive sites to download anything from to a non-tech expert and what's particularly frustrating is the tech expert types seemingly having no clue that github is INCREDIBLY hard to parse
this is because github is not for downloading software. technically it can be used for that, but only through a sort of elaborate accident. someone sending you to github to download their end-user software is like a chef telling you that your dinner is waiting for you in their 2500sqft commercial kitchen
at the very least link end users directly to /releases, come on
