Over the years, after Eggman dies, Sage starts helping to make the world a better place and helping turn everything into a utopia as a sort of apology for her father's misdeeds, and also carefully removing all references to Silver the Hedgehog from the historical records so that he doesn't like grow up with a predestination paradox hanging over his head. Silver thinks he's just been really good at "not changing the past".
