Cascadia officially separated from Washington and Oregon in 2027 btw.
Leavenworth was a DMZ so both east and west can enjoy kitschy octoberfest and christmas events until the Nutcracker Affair of 2029
it's cowboy-themed, right? so it's gotta be somewhere near Texas... right?
I regret to inform you it's on the Canadian border (if it helps, it's under cowboy-themed Alberta)
oh because it's near the mountain-ah
okay that makes a strange amount of sense!
this is one of those things that really needs a perfect storm of circumstances to happen, and when it does it is in-cred-i-ble. amazing.
at least we have AL-SA-MA, I don't know any mnemonic that can help with this many
In your defense, North Tennessee being labeled Pennsylvania isn't so far off from psychoreality
does that one not exist
I seem to recall there's like one pair of states that's like "STATE" and "(CARDINAL DIRECTION) STATE"
it does, it's just a lot more COMPACT https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Virginia
i love that you've moved Delaware from a tiny coastal state to a giant middle-of-the-map landlocked state lol
legit all I know about it is that 5-second gag from Wayne's World about how boring it is so I figured it was one of those square states
honestly I know very little about delaware too lol
most of what I know about it is entirely encapsulated by that one famous painting of George Washington crossing the eponymous river (which I assume is bordering the state, I don't actually know lol)
which is to say, it was a state involved in the revolutionary war, therefore it was on the Atlantic coast, for obvious reasons
To be fair, idk how many ‘Muricans these days would do much better. Also I guess I’m from Illinois now, which honestly is a massive improvement.
It took me an unfortunately long time to notice the issue here. I was like "why did you label those two next to north and south dekota as north and south dekota" but then my brain just didn't work right
Anyways btw, I just did a test for Canadian provinces and got a 100% lmao
I love the part a lot where you knew where Philadelphia was in the country and placed it just about right, but not to its state
behold the carte diabolique, which depicts the 14 forbidden states[/lookaroundyou]
I saw Nevada and California were right and thought “I don’t see the problem here” but then the rest of the map clicked and just… what lol this is amazing
To be fair if our roles were reversed in this scenario this is about how good I’d do at labeling Canada, so… 😂
Oh nooo Zandra you got bamboozled
I was a nerd who studied geography for like, trivia challenges in high school and had a 50 state puzzle as a kid so I know too much about the USA for having been there like, maybe 20 times? Maybe???
that's a pretty mean joke to play on someone who's not even from the US lol
I have lived in 7 states, by my count, and only one of them was labeled correctly on this map, because Texas is hard to mess up lol. Even allowing for the inspired-by states. The closest you got was Illinois only being one state off...
also ever since I first saw this map I keep thinking "Sorth Carolina" (what you labeled Virginia lol)
I regret to inform you that Pennsylvania is, in fact, Philadelphia's State (and you put Philadelphia closer to the correct spot than Pennsylvania), but tbh overall I don't think I could do much better. That's definitely where I would've put Ohio if I hadn't this morning been reminded it's actually really close to where I just moved.
Speaking as someone who's home state you forgot, THANK YOU. THAT PLACE DOESN'T MATTER
