#i made this while thinking about cool posts on this website#and how some folks are posting interactive SVGs#but they don't actually work unless opened in another tab#these weren't titillating my intrigue the way other chosts do#and i was wondering why it feels that way to me#i started to remember Marshall Macluhan's Understanding Media#the medium is the message#the chost is the medium#UI framing and post styling and all#it's place on the page#in the context of the feed#next to the user profile picture#labelled with the user name#new tab = new context#new context = new message#which is to say - i am posed the question:#is it still a 'chost' if it cannot manifest it's full capabilities via it's presented form on this page?#does it matter? probably not#its got me thinking though - and creating things like this chost - and i relish that

rhizomes though - it's all 'the message' - one big amorphous whole of a medium - an infinitely interconnected multiplicity - extended between and beyond every hotlink - cohost is but a vector for linking us up in new ways - that it has us exploring the limits of technology - in search of ways to exploit it for new ways of expression and connection - whether or not posts are manifesting the tag mentioned "full capabilities" - the connection and inspiration driven by the posts is pretty cool
