my buddy picked up a cheap new project car!!! it's a 1990 ST185 Toyota Celica GT-Four!!!!
the saga today:
- it didn't run for 10 years due to a broken starter, so the starter was replaced
- checked oil, turned the engine over, etc
- yanked the intercooler, gave it a crank
- it cranked but didn't start
- we applied copious Start Ya Bastard directly to the throttle body and tried again
- it started! lots of smoke, so we took out the key.
- it continued running.
- it continued running.
- lots more smoke.
- turns out it has a turbo timer lol
this thing rocks. full service history, had a complete engine and transmission rebuild after 7 years of ownership due to what we assume is a money shift, has a proper old school tune too! absolutely absurd amount of 1990s money spent on this car. excited to see where the build goes.
