An original piece from about 4 years ago! I wanted to paint an angel, but I wanted her to be a beautiful black woman (rather than all the white women you usually see as angels in the history of art)! Shout out to the site 'nappy.co' for having a load of really gorgeous photos of black people that I'd totally recommend for references!
I was inspired by a few artworks like Botticelli's Birth of Venus and John Duncan's Saint Bride!
