Hi folks! I did another one! This time around, I compiled a (short) lost of lower-cost game engines (I picked $50 as the upper limit here). This is intended as a sort of continuation of the free game engines post, but for developers who can afford to use a paid tool (albeit a paid tool that is easier on the bank account, etc.)

It's a short list: I really opted to be choosey here, but left a community suggestions section, so I'm really happy to put more tried and true tools on here if folks have favorites.

Next up, I'll be doing lower-cost art tools for game dev. And more! Hoping these resources are helpful for folks. Please share and feel free to send me suggestions!
