Criterion Channel subscribers: I recommend watching I've Heard the Mermaids Singing before it leaves at the end of the month. Very charming; Polly's an absolute delight of a disaster lesbian. Has that slightly loose editing style I feel like I don't really see anymore, a palpable sense of gaps between shots.
