i simply love organizing data into infographics. also this is incredibly weighted toward european & american history because that's what i've been listening to, but i always love recommendations so if there's a favorite podcast of yours about history please let me know, maybe i'll add it

the embed should work okay but going to the actual miro board is probably ideal

a thunderstorm is rolling in and im writing so, v good night to dig into the anglo saxon pod

oh! oh!! do you know about Medieval Death Trip? the dude reads chronicler reports from medieval europe which, they're really fascinating!

i'd recommend the medieval podcast with Daniele Cybulskie, tho it isn't really a timeline format like the other ones, just medievalists talking about different niches in the period lol. Occasionally there's some Islamic episodes too. its ran by medievalists.net which is a very cool and easily digestible website

Thank you so much for this, this is exactly the stuff I look for. I haven’t started either of these yet (still working thru History of Rome/Revolutions/Blowback/Age of Napoleon), but two I have on deck that might be worth checking out are History of Byzantium and (the very brief/old) Norman Centuries.

i have two less conventional podcasts about history to suggest -- probably not to you, dante, but in case anyone reading this is interested.

one is engines of our ingenuity, which is bite-size stories about inventions and other science, engineering, music, etc. breakthroughs from history. it's hosted by a rotating set of academics based on their expertises. there are thousands of episodes of this show. they're literally like 3-5 minutes long.

the other is sidedoor, the smithsonian's official podcast. it's about all kinds of things (just like the smithsonian haha) and usually exploring a niche, like the founding of the study of environmental racism, or a particular indian prince who loved a certain kind of art.

I've enjoyed The Fall of Civilizations podcast (it's good background while cleaning stuff)

For less specific time periods & focus on folklore and mythology, Mythillogical is pretty fun. Two extremely british dudes (who actually do a decent job citing their sources and such). One of the guys from Mythillogical also does The Histocrat podcast, another I've listened to (admittedly mostly to get sleepy at night lol)

^ all are available either on youtube or on podcast feeds

Oh this is extremely my shit. Always on the lookout for bone-dry chronologically-organized podcasts. (Don't so much like the more anthology-based ones. Give me the grand sweep!) History of Egypt was an instant subscribe.

I also keep up with a number of more domain-specific history podcasts. A History Of Rock Music In 500 Songs is the big one, I cannot recommend that enough even if it doesn't quite seem like your thing.

yeah, it's almost entirely just mediterranean/european history rn. I want to find other similar podcasts for other parts of the world but this particular format (mostly chronological, 'grand history' storytelling) is still relatively niche
