The Emperor's New Groove Review

why does kronk, an incan, have a "shoulder devil and angel"? was that considered... at all?

almost all of the character performances here are pretty strong, which is good because the environmental design is... strangely sparse? A surprising number of scenes occur in front of a sort of formless void, which is not usually what I associate with this era of matte-painting-heavy animation.

this movie is very short. honestly not much happens. weirdly sparse overall, even for the relatively straightforward plotline that it's doing.

mostly watching this so i can watch The Sweatbox later and have context for it, ngl
