|Ulhauriear| Today has been a day. @_@;;;

I managed to get and keep us awake starting at 1030, and dragged our vessel out of bed around 1200. Got us medicated, and wobbled downstairs, immediately got the laundry started. Set about making a sandwich, finished just before it was time to switch the laundry from the washers to the dryers.

When I arrived in the communal laundry room for the apartment complex, I was horrified to find that one of the washers hadn't actually finished. When I opened the machine, it was full of water and soap, and the clothes were still sopping wet. So I closed the washer and told it to start so it'd continue. It said it had 13 minutes left.

So then I swapped to the other load, unloaded it, made sure nothing was bunched up, and that pants legs and shirt sleeves were all facing the same way so nothing would clump and wind up damp at the end of the cycle, got it into the dryer, and then started waiting for the last 13 minutes to pass.

Except the washer stopped at 6 minutes remaining, streaming the text 'CANCELED' across its digital display, before saying there were 0 minutes left. So we opened it. Clothes were still soaking, sopping wet, and soapy. There was a pool of water in the bottom of the washer. It definitely wasn't finished.

But seeing as there's no way to do a rinse cycle on its own on these machines, I just... switched it to the washer I'd just vacated and ran it as if it were a new load.

Finally got back to the apartment, back is already screaming at this point, and sat down to eat the sandwich I'd made. Half spaced out, half sitting here snarling and hissing randomly in frustration. Throws the rest of the day out of whack, messes my schedule up, and means that I have to make two extra trips when our back is already pissed off. And we can't take any more painkillers for another 3 hours now.

I went back out a short bit ago to retrieve the first load, which had finished in the dryer, and switched the now-properly-washed load to a dryer itself. Back screaming louder. Our head hurts, but it's taken care of. Now we just have to go back in... 18 minutes to retrieve those clothes, and we're so tired...

...despite sleeping 8 hours through the night.

but we can't lay down right now because we have to retrieve the clothes from the dryer as soon as they finish, or they might get swiped again (yes that has happened before). And there'll only be an hour and a half before dinnertime, so we have to carefully limit any napping and that's... ugh.

Today is not a good day. @_@;; why couldn't things have worked out properly?

Mission complete!

Unfortunately, it burned more energy than we had with the snags we encountered and had to deal with, so everything else I wanted to do today is back burnered.

Now that we’re back in the apartment and the laundry is safely in the living room, we’re gonna lay down and try to recover some energy before dinner.

…if our back will let us, at least.

Back in a bit, hopefully…

[phin] We absolutely and without question hate feeling sick. Like, sure most people dislike feeling ill.

But we hate it with the fury of thousands of suns. Just… we’re so much of a disaster zone at least 90% of the time, physically and mentally; we don’t need feeling ill on top of the nigh-constant pain in our body and our brain actively plotting and working against us.

Just, we’re always so tired, do we have to do this?
