Good morning Cohost!
I'm looking for information on how companies select open-source projects to fund/sponsor. Is it typical to do one-time donations or recurring sponsorships? Do companies have a tendency to target "big name" projects (e.g. Apache Foundation) and forget about all the little random libraries they'd really miss if they disappeared? Is a one-time donation to those smaller projects meaningful or is recurring support more important, even if it's a lesser amount?
Basically, any insight on what works / what doesn't, when it comes to corporate OSS funding?
Any thoughts/comments appreciated!
