i don't know why multiple people tried this but: don't do it. it breaks shit. we're going to put a fix up tomorrow (when i am actually working) to make it impossible to do but also. come on. don't do it. i have to go manually fix it when you do. thanks.

Oh yeah, I used to work on a site where it was possible for an admin to ban themselves and the one time it happened they were properly stuck until someone else helped them out.
Now it’s tempting me like one of those extremely slammable emergency stop buttons that will cause all kinds of havoc when actually used. I won’t, but it’s still there.

ask yourself a question anonymously and then be curious what happens when you block an anonymous ask then just go ahead and block yourself. then find the site only like 25% usable. lmao
blocking an anon self-ask isn't a full block, they behave differently internally. blocking an identified self-ask is a full block though, and if you do it i will be mad at you.
i have tried this on twitter before and it just gave me a funny internal error. i had the idea of trying it here but thought that something like That might happen. heh, i was right all along
Having seen this I am now curious about what its like to have blocked yourself. Like how does it affect what you can do/see. Like does it just stop you from seeing your own profile page and your posts or does it do something more?
Blocking yourself feels like the most "cohost thing" I've seen....
